Tonkon Torp’s Steven Wilker Joins Classroom Law Project Board

Tonkon Torp litigator Steven Wilker has been elected to the board of directors of Oregon’s Classroom Law Project, a nonprofit organization that brings civics and law-related education programs into Oregon schools.  

 

Wilker’s broad-based legal practice includes civil and Constitutional law as well as intellectual property, information privacy and security, financial services, media and technology law, and complex commercial litigation. He is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® in First Amendment and Commercial Litigation. Wilker serves on the boards of the ACLU of Oregon and the ACLU Foundation of Oregon, and is a frequent speaker on First Amendment issues. Earlier this year, he presented arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court on an issue of Constitutional law and free speech.    

 

Through its programs, the 25-year-old Classroom Law Project helps to teach students the skills essential to being a participating citizen in our democracy. The program serves over 400 teachers and 24,000 students from 250 schools throughout Oregon.
