Biography:
Sherrill is a mergers and acquisitions lawyer counseling clients on buying and selling businesses and structuring complex joint ventures. She also handles corporate finance transactions, advising clients on bank financings, private placements and public offerings.

Additionally, Sherrill represents public companies and advises them on securities compliance matters and follow-on offerings.

Sherrill's clients value her ability to provide quality legal counsel with practical business advice and creative solutions.

Her recent representative transactions include:

  • Acquisition by The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. of Meridian Rail Holdings Corp. for $230 million in cash.

  • Sale of Market Industries, a privately held provider of third-party logistics services and multimodal transportation capacity solutions, for $197 million to UTi Worldwide.

  • Acquisition by The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. of a substantial portion of Rail Car America, Inc. (RCA), its American Hydraulics division, and wholly-owned subsidiary, Brandon Corp., for $34 million cash.

  • Acquisition by Aequitas Capital Management of a wholesale greenhouse company, Skagit Gardens Inc.

  • Investment by Endeavour Capital in Andrews Electronics and Merchandising Technologies, Inc.

  • Acquisition by Gunderson Rail Services of General Electric Rail Services located in Alabama and Louisiana.
Sherrill has been named as a leader in her field in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. She also was listed as a Rising Star in the 2008 issue ofOregon Super Lawyers. The Portland Business Journal recently included her in a profile of Portland's leading M&A attorneys and awarded her their “Forty Under 40” award.

She previously practiced at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe LLP's San Francisco office and at Graham & James LLP, also in California.
