Biography:
Mike's practice focuses on the representation of privately held companies and institutional lenders. In addition to providing general counseling, Mike assists businesses with mergers and acquisitions and with structuring, negotiating and drafting agreements.

His experience includes advising businesses with respect to creditor's rights issues, reorganizations and bankruptcy proceedings. In recent years he has assisted asset-based lenders with the documentation of over $500 million in loan transactions and has represented both debtor's and creditors in prominent bankruptcy proceedings. Mike is a frequent speaker on the Uniform Commercial Code and on asset based lending.

Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Mike served as vice president of Affordable Equity Partners, Inc., a company that specializes in syndicating tax credits and providing gap financing to real estate developers.

Mike previously practiced law in a regional law firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, and also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John R. Gibson of the United States Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. In 1994, prior to practicing law, Mike earned his CPA working as an accountant for Price Waterhouse Coopers in St. Louis, Missouri.
