Costco Expands With Wilsonville Location

Jan 31, 2005
When Costco Wholesale Corporation was looking to expand its Portland Metro area operations, it turned to Tonkon Torp for help in securing enough appropriately zoned land to site a 145,000 square foot membership warehouse. The solution: Costco's first integrated shopping center location in the Portland area.

Little over a year after announcing its intent to co-anchor the 42-acre Argyle Square Development, Costco opened for business in Wilsonville. Tonkon Torp attorneys worked with Costco to secure the ground lease, obtain city planning permits and approvals, and negotiate various agreements for the construction and operation of the warehouse. Costco added over 200 family-wage jobs to the local economy, and introduced many more Oregonians to the savings of Costco warehouse store shopping.

Costco has turned to Tonkon Torp for real estate advice for almost twenty years. We answer our client's legal challenges by keeping an eye on the business objective at all times.
